Logan, Utah | Serving Since 2009

Elements

Four elements, one kitchen. A wood-fired oven, the Logan River through the window, Cache Valley farmland outside it, and the Bear River Range closing the east side of the valley.

The Idea

The Four Elements

The name has been on this restaurant since 2009. Read it literally and it turns out to describe the place accurately: what the kitchen cooks with, what runs past the windows, what the valley grows and what stands over it.

Fire

A wood-fired oven runs further through the menu than the pizza list. Five 10-inch wood-fired pizzas, the Wood-Fired Flat Cheese Bread at $6, the flatbread that comes with the Baked Goat Cheese, and the flatbread that comes with every pasta.

Water

Floor-to-ceiling windows onto the Logan River, which rises in the Bear River Mountains in Idaho and comes down Logan Canyon into the valley. The patio beside it is the room we use from May to September.

Earth

Cache County leads Utah in dairy and grows the hay that feeds it, on the flat old lakebed floor of Lake Bonneville. The kitchen cooks from scratch and buys from local and regional partners where it can.

Air

The Bear River Range is the east wall of the valley. It averages well over 8,000 feet and tops out at Naomi Peak, 9,979 feet. Logan Canyon cuts through it and runs 41 miles to Bear Lake.

The Patio

The restaurant calls it Cache Valley’s best patio for summer dining, and it is pointed at the river. The Wellsvilles take the sunset on the far side of the valley.
